Orthopaedic surgeons look at more issues of JBJS, more thoroughly, than any other publication in the field. JBJS is also used more as a reference source than any other orthopaedic publication.
This authoritative and widely respected journal is the official publication of twelve orthopaedic associations: The American Orthopaedic Association, The Australian Orthopaedic Association, The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The Canadian Orthopaedic Association, Western Orthopaedic Association, New Zealand Orthopaedic Association, Eastern Orthopaedic Association, South African Orthopaedic Association, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, British Orthopaedic Research Society, The British Orthopaedic Association, and the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society.
JBJS is required reading for residents in most U.S. orthopaedic surgery residency programs. It consistently ranks one of the top for high readership scores by independent research surveys. JBJS issues are saved for future reference in personal, departmental and hospital libraries.
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery has the largest world circulation of any orthopaedic journal, reaching subscribers in over 130 countries. JBJS is a paid subscription journal and is distributed to all Active Fellows of the AAOS as part of the association dues.
